

New radioimmunotherapy manufacturing contract for Corixa and MDS Nordion
Corixa Corporation, based in Seattle, and MDS Nordion, based in Ottawa, have signed a seven-year deal for MDS Nordion to continue to radiolabel bulk monoclonal antibody for producing BEXXAR® (tositumomab and iodine I-131 tositumomab) an investigational cancer therapy.
In a separate agreement, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma KG will produce the bulk tositumomab, which is sent to MDS Nordion for radiolabeling.
BEXXAR, an investigational radioimmunotherapy being co-developed by Corixa and GlaxoSmithKline, is in the final stages of regulatory review by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The new supply agreement replaces existing development and supply and facilities agreements of 1995 and 1998.
