Deal is expected to help Perrigo expand its global presence.
In a surprise move aimed at bolstering its generics business, Perrigo Co. based in Michigan, USA has acquired the UK-based pharmaceutical products company Galpharm Healthcare Ltd for $86 million in cash.
According to a statement from Perrigo, the Galpharm acquisition is expected to add more than $55 million in sales annually and add to earnings in the first year.
