Adapting to growth: Adaptive Biosystem’s new management ’looking for strategic partners’
Tim Bonham-Carter, Managing Director of Adaptive Biosystems since 1997, is to step down from this role.
Tim was a co-founder and chairman of UK’s BioIndustry Association (BIA) for a number of years before he returned to manufacturing, starting the Adaptive Biosystems business just over five years ago.
Since its formation, Adaptive Biosystems has grown to become the largest specialist UK manufacturer and supplier of bioreactor, bioprocess and analysis equipment.
The new managing director will be John Bonham-Carter (pictured), formerly Adaptive’s sales director. With the change of a generation, John says: "Adaptive will now look for strategic partners to grow at a faster rate."
Tim Bonham-Carter took his company to a stage where its innovative products are highly regarded within the R&D bioindustry, especially for complex control applications.
Tim’s successor, John Bonham-Carter sees with this success established, that "the focus will be to increase the volume of sales in the UK, but also the EU and US where we now have some strong distributors."
"Exploiting our intellectual property, perhaps into other sectors, will also be key to raising our profitability."
Tim Bonham-Carter will be joining a panel of other consultants to Adaptive Biosystems, including Professor Ron Leigh and Dr Sandy Primrose.
