Europe’s Dedicated Event for Contract Pharma & Biotech Manufacturing Prepares for March 26-28 2003 Voyage

Following the successful Bio/PharMOS 2002 event, its organiser VB International based in Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco, has unveiled details of the next event for the contract pharma and biotech manufacturing, processing and packing services sector.

Bio/PharMOS 2003 (Biotech & Pharma Manufacturing Outsource Services), Europe’s premiere outsourcing event for life science manufacturing with co-located exhibition and conference, will take place, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, from 26th - 28th March 2003.

Announcing the latest venture for her company, Vanina Broens, CEO says: "We are delighted by the response to our initiative in life science manufacturing from delegates, exhibitors and visitors as we help to fulfill the need in this important manufacturing sector."

"With over 370 visitors visiting Bio/PharMOS 2002 from 23 countries, not just from Europe, Bio/PharMOS is indeed an International forum where the decision makers discuss issues of strategic importance as well as develop new business opportunities."

"Bringing together players from two different sides of life science manufacturing is a challenge. The business cycle for biomanufacturing and bioprocessing isn’t as mature as for established pharmaceuticals so there’s a big demand for early stage production of clinical trial batches, process development and scale-up."

M. Arnaud Hanquez of HTC Consulting, based in Beausoleil, France observes: "Even many industry experts don’t understand there’s a difference between biotechnology and biomanufacturing. There are many biotech or biopartnering events for discovery and innovation with Biotechs looking for deals with Pharma companies. Bio/PharMOS addresses their need for taking products forward into manufacturing using the well-tried and tested platform of outsourcing."

"Biotech and Pharma have much to learn from each other about outsourcing issues, ways to reduce risk, to avoid exposure to heavy capital expenditure, how to manage the outsourcing relationship, consistent with producing top quality biopharmaceuticals in compliance with the rapidly changing regulatory climate."

The three-day Bio/PharMOS 2003 keynote conference will focus on Day 1: strategic issues, Day 2: operational matters, and Day 3: biopharmaceutical production and clinical trial supplies. The issues will cover primary and secondary processing, process development and scale-up, clinical trial supplies and regulatory aspects.

VB International is confident that by addressing the wider issues of healthcare delivery while facing up to the challenge of convergence in pharma and biotech manufacturing, an important milestone will be reached by the Bio/PharMOS audience at Monte Carlo next Spring.

Grimaldi Forum will host Bio/PharMOS once again with an even higher standard of facilities for this interactive forum in a highly congenial location.

Full details of sponsor opportunities, including generous early bird discounts and many other benefits are available from VB International.
