

Thermo appoints Director of Services for Informatics business
Thermo Electron Corporation based in Beverly MA, USA, has appointmented David Champagne (pictured) to the position of Director of Services, Informatics and Services, responsible for worldwide implementation, training, validation and support service for the Company’s laboratory informatics solutions.
Thermo is best known in the sector for its LIMS products (SampleManager™ and Nautilus™), chromatography data system client/server solution (Atlas™) and data archival and knowledge management solution (eRecordManager™). Thermo’s informatics business is recognised as Thermo LabSystems and Thermo Galactic.
Champagne, with considerable experience delivering high-quality services and support for mission-critical software applications spent about 13 years at Lotus/IBM where, as Senior Vice President of World-wide Services, he led a global support and service organization of over 1,200 service professionals for customers in over 80 countries.
More recenty, Champagne was President and CEO of ProActivity Software, an early-stage venture that provides business process analysis solutions, and President and CEO of UPSPRING Software, a development tools vendor, before it was acquired by MKS.

Champagne holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Bryant College, North Smithfield, RI. He will be based at Thermo’s offices in Beverly, MA, USA.
