Galen acquires rights to Sarafem
Galen, the biopharmaceutical company based in Ulster with offices in New Jersey has acquired the rights to market Sarafem in the US from Eli Lilly. Sarafem is indicated for treatment of premenstrual syndrome.
The acquisition is valued at $295 million payable in cash.
Sales of Sarafem in the US rose to about 85 million dollars during the period 2000-2001.
