The new Ascensia BREEZE Diabetes Meter, designed to make glucose monitoring worry-free, is the first new blood glucose meter to debut in the United States under Bayer’s Ascensia line of diabetes care products and services.
The meter has a simple design, making monitoring blood glucose levels effortless and a simple part of everyday routine.
The meter, manufactured by the Diagnostics Division of Bayer HealthCare LLC, a member of the Bayer Group, is being launched in the United States to coincide with this year’s annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association.
The Ascensia BREEZE has been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this year. The meter is intended to fill the need for effortless self-monitoring. With single-function buttons and automatic calibration, it is designed for convenience and simplicity for the patient who seeks ease in monitoring.
New Wirthlin Worldwide data show that 98% of patients believe self-monitoring helps keep their diabetes under control, yet nearly half of patients don’t monitor as frequently as they should. Some find the process too cumbersome, inconvenient or too much effort.
The Ascensia BREEZE meter uses the easy-to-load Ascensia™ AUTODISC™ 10-test disc, eliminating the need to handle tiny, individual strips. It has an ergonomic design and Sip-in Sampling technology that helps eliminate testing error with only a tiny blood sample needed.
