Eurand, specialist pharma company for delivery systems today launched AdvaTab™, its newest drug delivery technology.
The fast dissolve system is designed for products, which dissolve rapidly in the mouth without the need for chewing or water.
Tablets based on AdvaTab dissolve quickly, within 15-30 seconds for improved efficacy as well as convenience. The system is cost-efficient, can handle high API loading and coated drug particles. The technology does not require specialty packaging, consequently products can be packaged in both standard bottles and push-through blister foils.
One potential disadvantage has been overcome - the unpleasant taste of some medicines. Unlike other fast dissolve products on the market, AdvaTab™ may be combined with Microcaps®, Eurand's taste-masking technology. This feature is key to the success of fast dissolve products.
