Modern biotechnology is one of the key milestones in the Life Science industry during the last 25 years. The technology allows genetic information of living cells to be modified so that they may be transformed into ’biofactories’ to produce dedicated, non-endogenous substances like therapeutic proteins, monoclonal antibodies or vaccines.

This technology has been used for producing a range of biopharmaceuticals that previously extr had to be extracted from natural sources, for example human insulin.

With a better understanding of mechanisms that control biological processes, research has made it possible to design new biopharmaceuticals that are not merely copies of natural ones, but have improved properties or have properties for which there is no natural counterpart.

Diosynth sees that many therapeutic breakthroughs during the first decade of the 21st century will be in this field, taking advantage of advances in such areas as genomics and proteomics. The company offers a comprehensive range of services to Life Science companies from its platform of industrial biopharmaceutical custom manufacturing.

With the exception of its recombinant human insulin product, Diosynth manufactures active biopharmaceutical ingredients for clients in the pharmaceutical industry under contract manufacturing agreements.

As a leading industrial biotechnologist, Diosynth RTP is committed to developing customer’s small-scale pilot production (e.g., for toxicology or clinical phase I) into a robust, validated, and economically attractive industrial-scale manufacturing process. The company can produce active biopharmaceutical ingredients in the quantities needed and with the appropriate quality.
