About Encap : Niche provider of contract development and contract manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical industry based on encapsulation of liquids and powders.

From its new premises (2004) Encap provides services to companies in Europe, USA, Japan and Korea. Those industries plus food and medical reagents companies have adopted the technology.

• Oral Cytotoxics / High Potency
  Encap has developed several services to enhance the known advantages of liquid encapsulation in hard shell two piece capsules.  Liquids are much safer than powders when handling highly potent materials.  The dilution properties of liquids are much more predictable than for powders.  Therefore any oral formulation that involves very high potency, staining or very low dose compounds should examine the technologies available at Encap.
• Controlled Release
  DuoCapTM and LayerCapTM.  These permit two or more materials to be filled into the capsule but to remain apart.  DuoCapTM is used in the award winning probiotic FloraguardTM.  LayerCapTM provide a simple means of creating a reliable controlled release formulation.
• Abuse-Resistance
  Abusolve is a battery of formulation techniques to reduce the opportunity for oral compounds to be abused (e.g. Temazepam, Flunitrazepam). This protects the public, and the reputation of the pharmaceutical company promoting the product.
